I'm still here, I promise.... I know I've been a little MIA over the last week or so, but it's with good reason. Not only is it the holiday season and I've been finishing up all the editing from holiday sessions and doing my Christmas shopping, BUT I've also been packing. Yes, packing. I'm moving... in 2 days! I'm super excited about the new house, but goodness... this is the. worst. time. of the year for me to be trying to move!

So, if I reply to emails slower than normal or return phone calls slower than normal... Just be aware that I'm literally up to my ears in boxes and packing paper at the moment... Be patient and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

However, if you are wanting to book a session for 2009, please don't hesitate to contact me regardless of my moving situation. January is already starting to fill up and I assume February will book quickly as well. So, let me know if you want to get in for a session!

And, since I can't post on this blog without including something fun... Here is a youtube video that my cousin sent to me that I find super duper amazing. I am a very, very intermediate guitar player and so when I see a really amazing guitarist... I am always stunned. This particular guitarist is extrememly stunning... he's only a child. He leaves me speachless... If I could only be 1/4 as good as him, I'd become a rock star. ;)

hurricane ike.

due to hurricane ike arriving here in the houston area tomorrow, i will be unavailable for the next few days (starting today) as i prepare with my family to embrace this crazy storm. and let me tell you... the "fun" has already begun. i waited in line for 30 minutes to get gas this morning and a neighboring gas station had already run out of gas. then i hit up the grocery stores looking for food, water, and supplies.... there was hardly anything left! i got the last two cans of baby formula in the entire store!

anyhow, please be patient.... i will return emails and will resume working on editing photos soon!

i am on a roll tonight, my friends! the creative juices are flowin' strong... so many ideas, so little time!

let me back up and explain what i'm even talkin' bout... okay, so, over the next few weeks, start watching for sugar shots' new look to be unveiled [slowly, probably one thing at a time, but hey- it's still exciting!]! first thing to change - the logo! [ you can catch a glimpse of the new logo on my new splash page... here ]

yep, that's right.... come late august, i'll be taking the role of wedding photographer and i am so pumped up about it! i'll be heading over to shirley acres in spring, texas for a day filled with all sorts of wedding fun... can't wait K and R! ;)

may hasn't even started yet, but it is officially closed for bookings! please, if you are interested in booking with me... check your calendars for june becauase that is the next available month! sessions typically need to be booked with me 3 to 4 weeks in advance to ensure that you get in for the time you are interested in... FYI! :)

i heart design.

yippy!! my new business cards arrived today! i custom designed them myself... and i am super happy with how they turned out! luscious shades of pink & lime colors with my photos gracing both sides... all printed on pearl press-printed paper... they are oh-so-modern & extra yummy, if i do say so myself! :) of course, i had to document the occassion.... so, here they are fresh from the press:

okay, these next two pics are very random. i found this little guy peeping out from under our couch this afternoon and he was screaming for some attention.... so i took his picture. he's a funny looking little fellow, don't you think?

well, let it be heard: i am raising my fee for traveling. i have to - since gas is costing nearly $100 a gallon these days! no really though. gas prices are, as you're probably well aware, through the roof and it is unfortunate but true... i have to start charging more for traveling over 60 miles round-trip. prices are listed here for you to view under the tab labled 'pricing' and are in affect for all sessions booked from today on out. { if you already have your session date secured with me, then this doesn't apply to you. }


remember when gas used to be under $1.00?! and then neighboring gas stations would have a price war and prices would drop to like $.89!?! gone are the days...

it takes a lot of gas to fuel this big ol' van of mine. (yes, i said van. yes, i'm only 27. stop laughing.)

april is closed; may is open!

april is officially closed for booking - there is no possible way i can squeeze another session into april... and may is likely to fill up quickly, so book now to make sure you get in for the date you want!

i can't believe that in only a few short days APRIL will be here already! this year is flying by soooo fast.

which leads me to my next topic... if you would like to book a session for april, there are only a couple of slots left. please contact me as soon as possible, so that i can hopefully accomodate you on your preferred date. i can't wait to meet you... whoever *you* may be! :)

here is yet another super logo draft for sugar shots created by the fabulous designer erika jones. i really like this one a lot... the lollipops look so tasty and the colors are so yummy.

I've got some exciting news..... The amazing logo designer Erika Jones is working with me to create a fresh, new look for Sugar Shots Photography! She and I have been brainstorming about ideas (I love the idea of incorporating candy into the logo!) and we are currently narrowing down colors for the color scheme... but things are coming about nicely! This is the first rough draft she sent to me (see below)! Isn't it adorable?!

I'll keep you guys posted as she developes new drafts based our last correspondence yesterday!

The website is finally up and running!

It's official!

Sugar Shots Photography is now open! After weeks and weeks of planning, I am now ready for some business!

My official website is still in the works, but it's coming.... soon! I'll release the website name once it's ready to go live. Hopefully that will be sometime in the next week.

Also, I want to give a huge *thank you* to Scott, Melinda + kids, Marla + kids, Lauren, and Brantly for lending me your images during my portfolio building weeks! I had so much fun photographing you... and I know we made some great memories. At times, we were laughing so hard that we were literally crying! Fun!
